So we girls are finally reading Harry Potter. I just finished the 4th, Dani is midway through the 4th and Britti is in the 1st. I think it is number 5 that came out as a PG13 movie. What do you all think about the book? I plan on reading it before I let Dani but I was wondering what other people thought. Too mature for an 11 year old (yes I'm rounding up)? What about an 8 year old? Thanks!

the fifth one is really dark. its my least favorite. but i love them all. haha the fifth one starts to get more complex too. i dont really think its bad for her to read but she may enjoy it more when she is a little older. but then what do i know about what kids should or shouldnt read. haha

oooh it is so good that you are reading them. the 7th is the best. yeah, there is nothing really bad in the fifth..she just might get scared. ha. i did.
I don't think their is nothing too bad. The movie stinks! to but it lightly. The 6th is darker I think. But hey if she is able to understand book four than she should be fine with 5, same with 6 and 7. The story just has a lot more going on it in the last too. That's great you are finally reading them do you like them?
I'm half way through number 7 so I'll be able to give you 5,6,and 7 when we get home.
The biggest problem with number 5 for me was all the kissing. You don't see it in the movie, but in the book they are always "snogging" Grace understood it just fine. She's read it twice.
